How is our product different:

Because of the unique challenges that Black populations face on top of the already tough challenges that people with diabetes face, we believe the solutions have to be unique as well.

Just some of the gaps other solutions miss, that our diabetes solutions account for are:

  • The history of unhealthy foods across the diaspora

  • The cultural connection of unhealthy foods in Black households

  • The differences in food prep among groups (ex. Guyanese vs. Jamaican vs. Black American)

  • The social determinants that serve as healthcare headwinds

  • The lack of optimal supermarkets in many communities

  • The distrust towards medications and healthcare in general

  • How doctor biases prevent healthcare from being dispensed

  • Teaching modalities for a low level health literacy population

Health Literacy Diabetes Education

Our video education curriculum is:

  • Culturally sensitive - reflecting the patients we are serving

  • Evidence based - framed in the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists "7 Self Care Behaviors"

  • On demand and bite sized learning

Behavioral Change Programming

Our behavioral change programming includes:

  • Daily behaviors blueprint map

  • Instructional nutritional database
